Swift To Share CMA Spotlight With Hendersonville High School Students

At 15, Taylor Swift was wandering the halls of Hendersonville High School like so many other local teens. Four years later, she’ll perform at tomorrows CMA Awards, and find out whether she gets to bring home the coveted entertainer of the year award.

According to Jamie Jordan, who coaches the school’s dance team, producers for the show to be broadcast tomorrow night on ABC called to see if members of her dance team could be a part of Swift’s performance of her hit, “Fifteen.”

“They said they wanted to create the way she did that song in her concert,” Jordan said. During the song, Swift is surrounded at a piano by an audience.

Jordan said she told producers her dance team would love to be involved, and when they said they needed 325 teens total, Jordan suggested they call HHS principal Joni Worsham, who rounded up other students. The dance team coach said she was told around 140 students would be involved in a separate rehearsal from the other 185 students who will attend, but is not sure what their role will be.

Worsham said the school is treating the outing like a field trip and will take buses to the performance.

How come I never had field trips like that when I was in school??

New Music From Montgomery Gentry

The duo Montgomery Gentry is poised to continue their hitmaking ways with the release of their new single, “Oughta Be More Songs About That.”

The song, co-penned by Eddie Montgomery, recognizes the importance of hard work, forgiveness, and overall social responsibility. KKGO Los Angeles’ Sr.Manager/Country Programming Charlie Cook lauds, "This is exactly what we're hearing from our listeners. These topics are important to them... and Montgomery Gentry nails it!"

The brand-new single will be off of their forthcoming new CD, which marks the duo’s seventh studio album, due in early 2010. Montgomery Gentry rejoins Blake Chancey, who produced their 2008 album Back When I Knew It All, which yielded the #1 hits “Back When I Knew It All,” and “Roll With Me,” and Top 10 “One In Every Crowd,” as well as an 2008 ACM nod for Album of the Year.

“Man, we’ve been working hard to finish this CD and get new music out there and we’re real excited about ‘Songs,’” says Eddie Montgomery. “I love this one, it’s just a song about real American folks and their lives.”

“Oughta Be More Songs About That,” is now available at all radio outlets, with an impact date of 11/30.

Kenny Chesney In 3D Hitting The Big Screen In April

Just as Kenny Chesney, the 4-time and reigning Country Music Association and 4-consecutive Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, announced he would not stage a major tour next year comes the announcement he will provide an even more up-close, in-your-face, on-the-stage way to experience the intensity, the mayhem and yes, fun of his full-tilt stadium-sized show! Teaming with Sony Motion Pictures highly specialized The Hot Ticket Division, the man who's sold over a million concert tickets each of the past 8 summers is in the midst of editing “Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3-D,” putting him in the company of the Rolling Stones and U2.

“I'd seen U2's movie and was blown away,” Chesney says of the film, which hits theatres in April 2010. “It was like something I'd never seen - and I wondered what would happen if we tried to capture some of what was going on like that… How would it look, because this is more straight up… When we did, everyone who saw the footage agreed, and we started taking this project very seriously.

“Then when major movie studios were interested in working with us… a company with such specialized expertise as not just Sony Motion Pictures, which is crazy, but their Hot Ticket division which understands very specifically the challenges of a 3-D movie, well, we went for it.”

Shot over six nights in five cities - Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Seattle, Boston and Indianapolis -- with 22 3-D camera rigs, this is Kenny Chesney closer than anyone's ever been. On the stage, in the halls, on the water and in the air, “Summer in 3-D” adds a dimension to the always high energy entertainer's concert connection with his fans that will leave people just as excited as being in a stadium with the music blaring, the fans cheering and the night still young.

“It's crazy how up close this puts you,” admits the man who's had 19 #1s and has been touring stadiums now for five straight years. “To me on that stage, I feel every single one of my fans - all the way to the very top of those stadiums. But this is like having everyone right there onstage with us, and it's a rush… I had no idea what we do could go to film quite like that. It was an amazing - and at times scary - experience to have cameras that close, in the air, on a blimp… cause they are everywhere. But to see what this film captures: all the energy, the thrill and an even better focus on some of the most rocking nights we've ever had, all I can say is… wow.”

With three CMA nominations - Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist and Vocal Even with Mac McAnally for the #1 “Down the Road” - Chesney performs “I'm Alive” with Dave Matthews on the CMA Awards live telecast Nov. 11 on ABC. The single is Top 10 and available on his Greatest Hits II album out now!

Jake Owen Fan Carrie Shares Her Coastal Carolina Fair Experience

Jake Owen fans were out in full force Friday night at the Coastal Carolina Fair. Our friend Carrie attended the show, and sent us what she thought of Jake's performance, along with her experience at her very first Meet and Greet. Thanks again Carrie!

WOW is a word that easily describes Jake Owen's show Friday night at the Coastal Carolina Fair. I attended his show last year at the fair which was the thing that got me hooked onto his music to begin with, so I knew I was in for the night of my life after a long hard week at school. I got to the fair grounds at 6:30 and got a seat in the 6th row and started the wait in the cold weather.

It was well worth the wait when Jake ran on stage singing 8 Second Ride. By that time the stadium was as full as it could get! The crowd was double the size of last year. He followed that by upbeat song after upbeat song making it one big rockin' awesome Friday night party at the fair! I was really happy that he sung all of his fan favorites from his albums. I was impressed with how many times he jumped into the audience. The one time that surprised me the most was when he ran all the way to the top and played with the spot light. It is not everyday you see an artist do that!

Jake had so much energy! I didn't know where he manged to get it all in the freezing cold weather which didn't seem to bother him one bit. Compared to last years show this show was amazing!!! As a performer he has grown so much and his shows have gone from really good to crazy amazing and incredible! I felt so connected to him. Not many artist can make you feel that way! Five years down the road I see him being nominated for Entertainer of the Year if he continues to grow this quickly! If you have not seen him in concert you got to go see him!! Its worth the long wait and every penny.

What made the night extra special was that I won a fan club meet and greet. I am a huge country music fan and was estatic about my 1st meet and greet. By the time the meet and greet after the show I could not feel my hands from the cold. I was starstruck when Jake walked through the door backstage. I couldn't belive one of my favorite country artists was standing right in front of me and was about to take a picture with me. When I walked up to him I said "I can't belive I'm meeting you" and he responded "I can't belive I'm meeting you. I've never met you before." Jake was friendly and each and every way. When you see him on GAC doing interviews that is 100% the way he is in real life. I just love it!

Overall it was an incredible night! I strongly recommend seeing Jake live. His shows are amazing and won't dissapoint you!
